The 3rd Base Drill is one of my staple warm-up drills for Little League and youth baseball.

With players lined up at 3rd base, 1st base, and catcher, this drill:

Gets players moving immediately

Reinforces basic throwing and receiving

Teaches simple game flow and awareness

Prepares kids quickly and efficiently for practice

It’s easy to run, keeps lines short, and works well at the start of practice when you want to focus without standing around.

I’ve used this drill for years to keep practices organized, active, and fun — especially with younger players learning the fundamentals.
