My visit to Hartalega’s NGC (Next Generation Glove Manufacturing Center) at Sepang recently coincided with the news of them acquiring 60.57 acres of nearby land to further expand their operations. With no signs of the COVID-19 pandemic slowing down , Hartalega plans to increase its existing current production capacity of 19 billion gloves annually to 44 billion by 2021 in order to meet the world’s market demand.
Hartalega is the first in the world to invent the lightweight nitrile gloves in 2005, single-handedly shifting the industry and worldwide demand from latex to nitrile gloves. Today, they have become the largest producer of nitrile gloves in the world with 7 major production lines with 4 more on its way.
Hartalega’s expansion is parallel to the needs of the post-COVID market, but at the same time the welfare of its workforce is well taken care of. This empathetic value is truly the mark of an industry leader.
