Nearly three feet of snow had accumulated in the town of Deadwood, SD by Wednesday morning. More than an additional foot of snow is expected during the afternoon and overnight hours. Area roads remain snow-covered and no travel is advised. Residents worked to clear snow from cars, sidewalks, porches, and roofs as the weight of the snow began to cause concerns. A blizzard warning remains in effect for the area.
