The World's largest kurinuki taiko in Takayama, Japan. They are nearly 2.7 meters in diameter and cost around 500,000 USD. These drums are not to be confused with the large drums in Akita, which are also world record holders. The drums in Akita do have a larger diameter, but their construction is different so they are both the largest drums in the world in their own category.
The drums in Akita are constructed like a barrel from many pieces of wood. The drums in this video our made from a single tree trunk - one, solid piece of wood.
