This Beautiful Welsh Village Stole Our Hearts

Описание: Today we head an hour west into Carmarthenshire to the home of sheep, beaches, and some cool castles.Our first stop is Laugharne where we head to the home of Dylan Thomas and wander around the estuary. We loved this friendly, quaint (!) little village and could really see where Dylan got his inspiration from.

Next up, we headed 15 minutes away to St Michaels Church. Having successfully navigated through a farmyard, dodged some dogs and not got lost through endless fields, we arrived at the now-reclaimed-by-nature ruins. With it once being a stop off for pilgrims heading to St Davids, this tranquil snippet in the hills of Carmarntheshire was one you really shouldnt miss if you enjoy history, religion and peaceful places. Listening to the birds and the trickle of the river nearby was really lovely and quite touching.

Our last stop of the day was to Scotts Bay and Llansteffan Castle. With views over the Tywi estuary and Carmarthen Bay, this settlement has quite the 5* location. We ended up doing a long loop, and adding an extra 2 miles on the end, at the suggestion of a lovely dog walker, leading us past a derelict National Trust property. This countryside is so unspoiled and we think winter might actually be a perfect time to visit!
