"It is Well With My Soul" is a hymn penned by Horatio Spafford (1828-1888) with music composed by Philip Bliss. This "It is Well With My Soul" (Piano Improvisation) was recorded in 2020 as many struggled with this current pandemic.

In 1873, Horatio treated his wife and four daughters to a boat trip to Europe. A prominent Chicago lawyer, Horatio planned to join his family shortly after finishing up some business in Chicago. A few days later, Horatio received news that the family's ship had wrecked and all four of his daughters had perished.

On his way to meet his wife, he passed over the waters where the ship wrecked and penned these words:

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll,
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
