Raging wildfires have engulfed Argentina’s Patagonia, forcing the evacuation of at least 3,000 tourists and threatening local communities in one of the country’s most popular travel destinations. More than 12,000 hectares of scrubland and native forests have burned across the Comarca Andina region, including areas near El Bolsón, Lago Puelo and El Hoyo. Firefighters, volunteers and aerial crews are battling the flames amid strong winds and severe drought. Authorities say the cause is still under investigation, but officials have suggested one of the largest fires may have been deliberately set, raising serious concerns.
