Parts work is all the rage, and it is extremely helpful. THE OPPRESSOR PARTS ARE PROTECTORS WITH GOOD INTENTIONS even if they don't feel protective! There are no bad parts!! Some parts carry the burden of the past until we heal.

I have experienced great success combining parts work with Brainspotting, which is my primary modality.

Are you hard on yourself? Do you talk yourself out of your emotions? These subconscious protector parts protect vulnerable parts and their emotions. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk says: “…a part is considered not just a passing emotional state or customary thought pattern but a distinct mental system with its own history, abilities, needs and worldview. Trauma injects parts with beliefs and emotions that hijack them out of their naturally valuable state."
