VivoPower International executive chairman Kevin Chin talked with Proactive about the company’s $30M strategic PIPE investment and its accelerating AI data centre strategy.
Chin described the funding as “strategic capital” from long-term institutional investors and sovereign family offices based in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He explained that the private investment in public equity (PIPE) structure brings sophisticated investors with experience in AI data centre businesses, adding not only capital but also sector knowledge and strategic connections.
The discussion also focused on valuation comparisons. Chin highlighted that listed peers in the AI data centre space trade at enterprise value to megawatt (EV/MW) multiples of five to fifteen times. With approximately 358 megawatts currently in its portfolio, VivoPower International is positioning itself to acquire, build, own and lease powered land to hyperscalers and neo-cloud operators.
