Another Top Split Reality Check! | 100 Minutes at Bahrain! | Full Weekly LMU Online Race

Another 100 minute race at Bahrain and once again we landed in top split. Over 100 drivers registered which meant six splits and this was the top one. Everyone was insanely fast. I ran a personal best in qualifying, mid 1:47s, and that only put me P13. That’s when it really hit how brutal this field was.

We rolled off and survived the opening lap cleanly. A couple laps in I got passed by a Peugeot with a pretty sketchy move which immediately put me in fight mode. I sent it back on him and the two of us went at it for a few laps. I eventually cleared him and gapped him, but by then I had fallen into P12 and the main pack had started to pull away.

For the first 30 minutes it was basically me and three other cars fighting for P11 through P15. Then the GT3 traffic started and it got messy fast. Just constant fighting, awkward moments, and zero rhythm. Once we finally cleared that, it turned into full no man’s land for a bit.

Then I made a dumb move going into Turn 8 trying to get through a Lexus GT3. Barely tapped him. Watching the replay it was nothing, but in the moment I was pissed at myself. Thankfully he still finished higher than where he started, so no harm done, but it definitely didn’t help my flow.

We ended the first stint and pitted, and this is where things got weird. This race only gives you six tires total, not six sets. I ran the first stint on my qualifying tires, so when I bolted on new ones, the left side was fresh but the right side was already around 68 percent. At Bahrain. Not ideal.

The final stint started rough. Straight back into no man’s land, struggling to find consistency. The pace was there but I just could not string laps together. Every time I thought I had it figured out, traffic or a mistake would reset everything. Then I got stuck behind GT3s that were fighting each other and it completely killed my momentum. Overbraked, got frustrated, hated every second of it.

And then somehow… things flipped.

A car ahead of me started slowing. I was in P11 and realized a top 10 might actually be possible. I pushed hard, caught a Cadillac, passed him, then immediately threw it away by overbraking into Turn 1 and letting him back through. Had to go do it all over again. Finally got him with two laps to go.

What I didn’t realize in the moment was that two cars ahead had their own incidents around the same time. So when I made the pass and looked up thinking I was P10, I was actually P8.

From PB pace only being good enough for P13, messy traffic, tire management hell, and pure frustration… somehow this turned into a P8 in top split. I’ll take that every time. As always I y’all enjoyed!!

1:25:35 - Hang on…a Top 10 may be on here. We’re catching P11 stupid fast and P9 is struggling as well. Time to push like absolute hell!
