Up for auction on Ebay!!!!
This fascinating guitar is one of the very earliest National single cone guitars made, from the first production batch of the Triolian model. With a screen-hole coverplate, cone with no stamped spiral and flower bouquet decals on the body this is the model identified as the progenitor of all subsequent National single-cone instruments. While the first 12 Triolian prototypes were set up with a simplified three-cone resonator, this design followed immediately after and are extremely rare.Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Overall wear and chipping the somewhat fragile paint, but still an excellent player with all original hardware and finish.
