Abstract
One of the frequently encountered problems with self-ligating brackets is that lids cannot be closed after changing to large sized square wires. A common misconception of the cause is incorrect torque or malalignment. However, another probable cause is food debris deposited inside the bracket slots. Do not force to close the lid nor replace it with a new bracket. Simply remove the debris with an explorer and often the lid can be easily closed after the removal.

使用自鎖式矯正器時，更換較粗的方線後常會遇到蓋子無法關閉的問題，一般來說常會誤以為是因為牙齒不整齊或是角度不對所致。然而另一個常見原因是食物碎片卡在矯正器的溝槽內。毋須硬蓋，也不用更換一顆新的矯正器，只要使用探針移除異物後就能順利關閉蓋子。
