Among the meanings of 'wisdom' (ḥikmah) is the purified Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). This could refer to comprehensive words that encompass great and profound meanings, as the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: 'I have been given concise yet comprehensive speech.' Or it could mean the Prophetic Sunnah, which is the second source of legislation in Islam. Allah the Almighty says: "And He teaches them the Book and wisdom." The Book refers to the Noble Quran, while wisdom refers to the purified Sunnah.
