An Introduction to S.L.A.T.E. Simple Learning Activities to Think and Empower

Описание: The S.L.A.T.E. program is a Simple Learning And Thinking program for Empowerment developed by Vaishali Gupta, Founder of One Teacher One Scientist to help disadvantaged children and community children take their basic step towards a formal learning process. SADRAG, an NGO in Noida is running the pilot project in three of their centres. The S.L.A.T.E. program of One Teacher One Scientist offers Teaching Material on a weekly basis for teachers to follow, in their local language. Children from migrant communities and disadvantaged homes are using low cost material and learning skills through activities that are not only simple for teachers to execute but are pedagogically sound. The activities in the program aid learning beyond the confines of the centres to the home environment where parents are empowered by getting parental tips and guidance to become enablers of learning so that Learning Never Stops.
S.L.A.T.E. is scientifically designed, keeping in mind that the audience are first generation learners, in a formal learning space with little or no stimulus at home.
The pilot project is being run by SADRAG in their Ugta Suraj centres of Nithari, Tugalpur and Nagla in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
