Myanmar earthquake death toll exceeds 1,600 as rescue efforts continue

Описание: At least 1,644 people have been killed and more than 3,400 injured in Myanmar following a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck near Mandalay on Friday.

Authorities said 139 people remain missing and warned the numbers could rise.

The quake, which hit at a depth of 10km, triggered 77 aftershocks and caused widespread destruction in Myanmar and neighbouring Thailand, where a collapsed building in Bangkok left 10 dead and more than 100 missing.
