"Towering Over the Competition"
It's back to basics for the final stage as the Tower drops the whole key carrying routine to instead reach Pauline like we've been doing in the indirect Donkey Kong confrontations to this point. Along the way, we'll finally be able to pay Junior back from the old days and get into some high-risk action courses.
The final showdown with Donkey Kong is one of the more awesome pieces of Game Boy related Mario music, and I'm not sure if I'm talking about the first or the super-duper secret one that is totally spoiled by that thumbnail! Eh, I'm fine with that!
In the end, Donkey Kong on the Game Boy is a pretty great game that I highly recommend. For some reason, this title doesn't seem to get mentioned as much as the slightly superior Super Mario Land 2, but make no mistake, it's currently my favorite Mario game I've done on this channel so far. Anyway, it's no longer on. It's over. See you next time!
