ANATA | Better Grieved Than Fooled (Full Guitar Cover)

Описание: My brother and me discovered Anata on myspace back in 2006ish and we were fascinated about how a band could be so incredibly good and unknown at the same time. A few years later we even asked their drummer Conny Pettersson if he'd record drums for the debut album of my band Virial, we already had his word but due to different reasons the recordings stayed in Italy with Giulio Galati.
Anyway, doing a cover of a song from The Conductor's Departure album was a long time mission I still had on my bucket list. Technically, the song was a little easier than the covers of Necrophagist and Gorod I did recently, so it was kinda more fun and chill to learn and play it repeatedly.
I mostly used tabs from songsterr, but corrected some fingerings. The hardest parts of the song - the mini solo, the solo and the final riffing part - I transcribed from the original song into guitar pro (hit me up if you want the file, but no guarantee for the correctness of the notes!). In order to get along with my main tuning D standard I had to pitch the whole song up a half note since the Anata dudes apparently play in C# standard.
For the visual part I tried to do something new with the lighting and I used a bunch of new transitions and filters I got some time ago. Specially the doomy part was fun to create, it's supposed to appear psychedelic and depressive. Reading the lyrics, I think that was the song writers intention; the acceptance of an apparently godless reality, even if that implies no relief from the burden of life.

I am still in the hope that Anata are going to release anything new some day, but honestly, I think that ship has sailed together with Necrophagist.
