How to make a Victorian Tussie Mussie - Floristry Tutorial

Описание: Today I have a floral tutorial on how to make a Victorian tussie-mussie, also known as a nosegay, into a floral cone – and then a floral spring tree centre piece design utilising the tussie-mussie floral cones, consisting of a collection of small flowers and foliage.

It's a magnificent floral display for any grand occasion! So easy and so visually amazing.

You will first need to make the cone from the following materials:
Stock Card, which will give a firm cone to host and hold flowers.
Water tight floral tube. This you will found when buying orchids. The growers will have inserted the stems of cut orchid to keep orchid fresh and living.
Flowers – I’m using small interesting spring flowers for this concept.

To construct the tree you will need a suitable container or heavy based urn, filled with wet green floral foam, and foam covered in green moss.

Jam or tightly pack wet foam into urn cavity.
Insert interesting shaped craggy branches into wet foam.

If you get the branches with no leaves, but buds starting to swell, in a warm room they will start to burst forth.

Make posies – see video on how to achieve these small interesting tussie mussie posies, or small gatherings of flowers.

Once you have your combinations of flowers and foliage, insert these, down inside water filled vials, or water tight plastic test tubes, or wrap stems in wet cotton wool, then cover with foil.

Place Cones onto branches, then insert plastic test tubes or little wrapped posies down into cones.

How amazing does your design look! Visually impressive without much work. As indicated above, once the branches hit a warm room, they will continue to grow - wonderful for any special occasion!
