Pokémon are from all over and sometimes are found in most any region you can think of, but what if the region they were introduced was not in fact their home? We already know it to be the case for some, so I think we can make a strong case that other Pokémon should be given a shot at staking their true heritage.
(Also I didn't even mention about the Old Amber likely being the DNA of Aerodactyl found inside some insect type thing which doesn't even necessarily mean that either one of those are from that region, just that is was the bug's final resting place, so who's to say?)
