Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Channel Mount ball and pintle hook combination with the 2 5/16 inch diameter hitch ball. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this pintle hook and hitch ball combo will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. You can either use it as a pintle hook to allow you to connect to a lunette ring coupler. And the way you would do that is pop out the pin and clip, pull on this right here, and that'll raise it up.

And then it'll lock into place just like that. And now it's opened up and you're able to use a lunette ring coupler that has an inside eye diameter of 2 1/2 inches or three inches, that would drop right over the ball. Once it drops over, to secure it into place, just take your top portion, put it down there, put your pin and clip back through there and clip it. And then that locks that over the lunette ring to keep it in place. Now if you wanna use it just for a standard ball coupler, what you're gonna do is the same way, just open it up, push it up, make sure it locks in there, and then to lock it in this position so you don't put it down, you just slide this pin and clip back through all the way.

And once you get it through, go ahead and clip that and that'll clip it and lock it and keep it in the upright position. And now the ball's open for just a regular ball coupler. Drop it onto a 2 5/16 inch ball coupler. Now the hitch ball, if you don't have a 2 5/16 coupler, maybe you have a smaller 1 7/8 inch or two inch ball. This is interchangeable.

You can loosen the nut here. Remove this ball and replace it with the CURT 1 7/8 inch or CURT two inch balls, which we do sell separately. You'd take this out, drop the other ball and place torque it in, and then you can use it for a different size ball coupler. But then again, just to release it, go ahead and pull out your pin and clip, put this down and then put your pin and clip back through there. Now this is a nice strong forged steel construction, has rust resistant finishes.

You can see the black powder coat finish on the pintle hook itself and a chrome plated finish on the hitch ball. This is designed to mount to adjustable channel mount shank with the 5/8 inch diameter pins and clips. Now we do sell that CURT adjustable channel mount shank separately on our website. It goes by a part number C45917, and I just wanna pop up an insert to show you what that shank looks like. And this will go right in there. Now it does not come with any pins and clips. If you do need the pins and clips, the 5/8 inch diameter pins and clips it requires, we do also sell those separately. They're part number C45925. Now this can also be locked if you want for extra security if you wanna lock the ball mount and the hitch or the adjustable shank to your hitch. We do sell optional locking pins. They're part number C23556. And I wanna pop up an insert on those just to show you what those look like. Gives you one locking pin. So when you put your adjustable channel mount shank in your hitch, you can lock that to it and then there gives you a pin that will go in here. So you could lock this ball mount to that shank. Again, that's sold separately on our website. Now this is a nice anti-rattle design. Helps reduce towing noise. We showed you the tethered safety pin, which is included for the pintle hook, and it is designed to fit adjustable channel mounts that have an interior channel with a three inches. Gross towing weight capacitor is 20,000 pounds and the hitch ball diameter it comes with is a 2 5/16 diameter. But that should do it for the review on this CURT Channel Mount ball and pintle hook combination with the 2 5/16 inch hitch ball.
