Gordon Town is located in Kingston 6, St Andrew, Jamaica (Caribbean).

As heavy rains from Tropical Depression Eta continues to pelt the island, the Gordon Town Road in East Rural St Andrew has been blocked by landslides. This comes following another week of roadways, across eastern parishes, being affected by extensive flooding and landslides

The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has issued an advisory warning pedestrians and motorists not to use the Gordon Town Main Road in the vicinity of Industry Village, also known as “John Crow Tavern”.

The road sits atop a river channel that is some 80 metres (262 feet) high and on the other side, there is an unstable hillside which is about 20 metres or 60 feet high.

Persons needing to travel from Gordon Town to other locations are encouraged to use the Irish Town Road or Newcastle Road which goes through Silver Hill Gap, Content and Guava Ridge.

National Works Agency (NWA) Workers and contractors are busy along sections of the route trying to clear other unusual landslide which blocked the Gordon Town main road
