Europese treksprinkhaan/Migratory locust (Locusta migratoria)

Описание: Locusta migratoria oftwel de prachtige mooie Europese treksprinkhaan is een forse treksprinkhaan uit de veldsprinkhanen (Acrididae) familie. De lengte varieert van 3 t/m 7 cm (soms 8). De vrouwtjes worden 3 tot 7 cm lang, mannetjes 3 tot 5 cm. De soort kwam vroeger voor in Nederland maar is helaas enige tijd geleden uitgestorven. De soort komt wel nog voor in Spanje, Frankrijk, Italië, Canarische Eilanden etc.

The Migratory locust is a large member of the Grasshoppers (Acrididae) family. The females can reach a length of 7 cm while the males reach a length from 3 to 5 cm. The females are larger then the males. It used to be common in Europe but has now become rare there. Still this species can be found in France, Italy, Spain, Canary Islands etc.
