Swiss transport system is great. Even if you are traveling around by car, you can take the train through the mountain and shorten your way around the Alps.
In Autumn 2025 my family rode the Autoverlad Furka, the car train that connects Oberwald (Valais) and Realp (Uri) in Switzerland. It is a practical way to cross the Alps without driving over the Furka Pass, especially in winter when the pass is closed.
