Some will say just don’t break the speed limits, but 99.99% of people will at some time in their life exceed the limit. Sometimes it could be safer to quickly pull into a safe gap rather than go slow and cut someone up in order to pull in before a road narrowing for instance. As long as doing so still allows you to stop in the distance you can see and there are no other hazards.

Some people think they are doing the safe thing by driving at the speed limit. Often it is inappropriately too low and at times too high (schools at leaving time), so use common sense.
