Описание: Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Today, I’m going to show you the real life in the rural areas of Southwest China. This video was shot by my friend Zhao Li in Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, which is only a few dozen kilometers away from my home. Located in the mountainous and hilly area, the terrain is characterized by numerous mountains, intersecting ridges, and abundant rivers. Due to the mountainous landscape, agriculture often relies on terraced fields or sloped land, which also limits the development of modern infrastructure. Many areas only had cement roads built a few years ago, and before that, they only had dirt roads. Most places are connected to the outside world by provincial roads or rural highways, though some villages require narrow mountain paths for access. Even today, many remote villages still face transportation difficulties, especially during the rainy and winter seasons when roads can become blocked. Small vehicles such as motorcycles and electric tricycles are widely used in villages, especially for short-distance transportation.
The lifestyle in northern Sichuan's rural areas is closely tied to nature and agriculture. Local residents primarily engage in agricultural production, growing crops such as rice, corn, potatoes, wheat, and buckwheat, and also raising poultry, pigs, and cattle. Due to the mountain climate, agricultural work is usually quite labor-intensive and seasonal.
The pace of life is relatively calm, but during busy farming seasons (like spring planting and autumn harvest), the workload is heavy. The rural areas here are deeply rooted in traditional culture, with many customs and festival activities still preserved, such as the Spring Festival and Qingming Festival, during which villagers hold various ceremonies and celebrations.
The economy in northern Sichuan's rural areas mainly depends on agriculture. Although the rural economy has improved in recent years, especially with the rise of rural tourism, most families still rely on subsistence farming. In addition to traditional agriculture, small-scale handcrafts and animal husbandry are also practiced. However, most of the young people have left the area to work elsewhere, as their income is many times higher than that of the older generation who remain, earning less than $1,000 annually.
