Several items to note:
1. The preserve is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and when affected by rain. There are also restrictions in the spring months. It is best to check the trail status on the website before going.
2. You will need a free Butterfly Pass to hike the longer loop trail. The Rangers will ask to see it. It will be emailed to you, but take a screenshot or print it out as cell reception may not be available.
3. The trail is fully exposed to the sun. Please be prepared on warmer days.
