One of the most difficult games you can play in my opinion. I only played it on an emulator on a PC, not the original on NES. However this theme is so familiar and powerful. I got the suggestion from a close friend who has a good ear for finding music that fits my style.

I partly tried to get the sound of an 80s martial art movie, and combine that with my own sounds. I used one sound effect from the original game, which is that high pitched clinch you can hear in the remix and put a lot of gain and reverb to it (it's the sound that initially plays when the start screen logotype shows up).

I implemented a break from all drums and percs to build up my own part that also is used for the outro.
