Join me as I take you step by step through my Fluid Art process of doing a Split Base Dutch Pour. Split base meaning 2 different colors of paint. In this art tutorial, I discuss the origins of the Dutch Pour and give tips on paint recipes and consistency, colors I used and the process of blowing the paints out to get the desired effect.

Paint Mixing

Split Base Paints:

I mix my pouring medium as 4 to 1 Floetrol to Heavy Gel Gloss. I mix the gel gloss in a separate small container with a little Floetrol so as not to get lumps then mix it in with the ret of my Floetrol.

Base paint:
Master's Touch Pearlized Dark Blue, Artist Loft Soft Body White

Color Used:
Folk Art Emerald Flash, Arteza Pearl Turquoise, 2 opaque colors - Liquitex Brilliant Purple and Artist’s Loft Light Blue, Folk Art Color Shift Emerald Flash, and Ateza Pearl Turquoise.
