Recent implementation research has shown that an Alive & Thrive intervention targeting adolescent girls in Ethiopia is both cost-effective and has significant impacts on adolescent dietary diversity scores and minimum meal frequency. This 90-minute webinar held in April 2023 presents Alive & Thrive’s research on the feasibility of integrating an adolescent nutrition program into school and community-based platforms, and the next steps in taking the intervention to scale.
The webinar, moderated by Alive & Thrive Director Sandra Remancus, features remarks by:
Hiwot Darsene, Lead Executive Officer for the National Nutrition Coordination Office, Ministry of Health of Ethiopia
Dr. Purnima Menon, Senior Director, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)
The Adolescent Nutrition program's rationale and implementation are presented by:
Dr. Tina Sangvhi, Senior Technical Officer, Alive & Thrive and
Tamirat Walissa, Associate Director for Technical Programs, Alive & Thrive's Ethiopia program
Dr. Sunny Kim, Research Fellow, IFPRI presents results of the implementation research.
Dr. Abdulaziz Ali, Country Director of Alive & Thrive's Ethiopia program, discusses the next steps to scale the program in Ethiopia.
