STORYLINE:
Turkey goes to the polls on Sunday for parliamentary elections which seem certain to mark the end of the line for Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit.
The DSP (Democratic Left Party), the party of the 77-year-old, four-decade veteran of Turkish politics is not expected to gather even enough votes to make it into parliament.
Many opinion polls suggest Ecevit's party will receive less than 5 percent of votes nationwide. A party must get 10 percent to enter parliament.
But many, including his supporters, have lost confidence in Ecevit's ability to govern.
