You have probably heard about Family Language Policies, what they are good for and what families should consider when setting up a Family Language Plan.
Featured on this Raising Multilinguals LIVE session is Professor Elizabeth Lanza, from the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Oslo, Norway, and Director of the Center for Multilingualism in Society across the Lifespan (MultiLing), a Center of Excellence funded by the Research Council of Norway.
Her current research addresses various issues of bilingualism and multilingualism; she has published widely on family language policies and practices, language socialization of bilingual children, identity in migrant narratives, language ideology, linguistic landscape, language policy, and research methodology. Her work has appeared in various international journals and edited volumes. She is an elected member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Lanza has raised two children bilingually in Norwegian and English, and is the grandmother of a bilingual two-year-old.
