They rolled it in with morning sun,
Old black piano, weight like stone.
Scratched-up wheels, worn ivory,
Set down hard beside the mead.

The bards leaned in, tapped every key,
Trading laughs and bets for free.
“Tomorrow night,” they said with cheer,
“We’ll play it loud — it starts right here.”

Old Peter stayed when lamps burned low,
“One last turn, then I will go.”
Same calm hands, same measured ear,
He’d tuned these halls for many years.

Dawn came soft — but Peter’s gone,
No broken locks, no signs of wrong.
Only keys, aligned just right,
Set and waiting for the night.

The tavern fills, the tables press,
Ale runs deep, the room’s a mess.
The bards begin, the rhythm’s set,
Hands on keys, the night rolls on.

The pace grows fast, the beat turns tight,
The sound pushes harder, bites—
The frame splits wide, the bench flies back,
And Peter spills across the planks!

Play it on — the keys ignite,
Teeth in a grin, a roaring sight.
The piano plays, it sings, it roars,
A pounding wave across the floor.

Stamp your boots, spill every cup,
This sound won’t stop, it pulls us up.
No fear tonight, just noise and cheer,
The piano sings — and we’re still here!

They drag up Peter, pour him ale,
He wipes his beard and tells the tale.
Laughs it off, downs half the mug,
Like being eaten’s just bad luck.

A bard steps close — four hands collide,
Keys and voices lock inside.
The boards all jump, the rafters shake,
The whole damn room begins to break.

Play it fast, don’t slow the beat,
Teeth and keys and stomping feet.
Night and crowd and sound collide,
The tavern breathes — the keys decide!
