Iranian state media have announced that the country’s security chief, Ali Larijani, is dead, hours after the Israeli military said he was killed in a dawn strike on Tuesday.
Also killed in the same attack was Gholamreza Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Internal Security Force, known as the Basij.
