Use Google Sheets as a Backend API for Your Frontend

In this video, I’ll show you how to turn Google Sheets into a real backend API using Google Apps Script.
Instead of sending data to a spreadsheet, this time Google Sheets acts as a data provider, returning clean JSON that any frontend application can consume.

We’ll start from an existing spreadsheet, write a simple doGet function, and deploy it as a public web app. By the end of the video, you’ll have a free, serverless backend API powered entirely by Google Drive.

This is perfect if you want a lightweight backend for prototypes, dashboards, experiments, or frontend projects without setting up a server or database.
