Job Description:
Design and develop automated test scripts to validate functionality of web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC’s SOA platform, including TIERS, YourTexasBenefits.com, YourTexasBenefits Mobile App, and other Social Services applications.
Create, enhance, and execute test plans and scenarios to ensure software quality, adhering to Agile methodologies.
Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive test plans and validate application and business process functionality.
Collaborate with development teams, testing staff, and end-users to support requirements analysis, test design, and test data preparation.
Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications are error-free and meet technical standards.
Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts, including participation in program design, coding, and test walk-through meetings.
Create and maintain technical and design documentation for automated testing processes.
Utilize tools such as HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Katalon, Selenium, SoapUI, or HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for manual and automated testing.
Analyze software defects and business problems to devise evidence-based, innovative solutions.
Work with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Support batch processing, interface file creation, and execution of automated tests using tools like SQL, XML, and scripting.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.
Provide occasional after-hours support, including weekends or holidays, as needed for testing or implementation.
Ensure compliance with industry-accepted software engineering practices and HHSC’s SDLC processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies to enhance software quality.

Requirements:
8+ years in software development, testing, and SDLC (Agile).
8+ years analyzing requirements and writing test plans/scenarios.
8+ years with programming languages, computer systems, and software testing.
3+ years preferred with tools like UFT, Selenium, SoapUI, ALM, or JIRA.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
