In this video, I take my Zeiss Ikon ZM camera and a rare roll of expired Fujifilm Super HQ 200 (from 2003) to an Independence Day parade in search of genuine moments of human connection through street photography. This was one of those rare rolls where nearly every frame was a keeper. Shot entirely on 35mm film, I set out to document the candid, emotional, and sometimes funny interactions that make public events like this so special.
I rated the film at ISO 100 to compensate for age and had it developed using standard C-41 processing at my go-to Utah lab, Film Cult. Throughout the video, I reflect on what it means to photograph people in a time where physical connection is rare but needed more than ever.
