I took delivery of my new Titan 3 point Snowblower recently. Join me as I assemble the unit. I will give an update when the snow flies.
I do have some thoughts that I would like to share that unfortunately were edited out due to time constraints.
First off, the GOOD:
This thing is a BEAST! It is extremely heavy weighing in at 665 lbs.
The thickness of the steel almost everywhere is close to 1/4".
It was packed well, sitting on a pallet and then framed in place with angle iron which was bolted and welded. There's probably $100 worth of angle iron in the packing material.
The paint job is superb. No scratches or dents, and looks like it was made to last a long time.
It did NOT come with an assembly manual (just a small booklet) so I downloaded the manual from their website. The PTO shaft came with a manual. Assembly was pretty straight forward and took no time at all. I think uncrating took the longest.
The not so good:
The chute. I won't say it's bad, it really isn't. It's duper heavy duty just like the rest of the unit. The bottom of the chute is made from heavy steel casing that interfaces with a larger sized heavy steel casing on the blower. They are about 3/4" in height. They don't actually sit atop of each other. They simply slide into one another to keep the chute in line. The bearing surface rides on and is held in place by the four bearing as can be seen in the video. The thickness of the paint made for a tight fit. also, looking closer, I could see a slight warp in one of the steel casings (a hot spot from the weld) It was a simple fix with a grinder/flap wheel, but nevertheless, it should not have been shipped that way. Other than that, I call it a good buy.
Make sure to fill the gearbox with oil as it is empty for shipping.
