Abstract: The bosonic mode is one of the most fundamental physical systems, realizable across various degrees of freedom and highly scalable. Its naturally infinite-dimensional Hilbert space offers unique advantages for quantum information processing: redundant quantum encoding can be achieved without introducing additional noise channels, significantly reducing the hardware overhead for quantum error correction (QEC) and improving the controllability of logical qubits. These properties make bosonic modes a powerful platform for applications in quantum computing, communication, simulation, and metrology. In this talk, I will discuss our experimental progress in bosonic QEC, including surpassing the break-even point of QEC and demonstrating QEC-protected quantum entanglement. I will also present our recent advances in scaling the system towards distributed quantum computation.
