Argos 1000 sonar installed about 1 meter below the surface with about 2 meters of water below the sonar. In this example of forward sonar in action, the seafloor is mapped to greater than 8x waterdepths even in such shallow water! In-water targets are detected out the the full range of the sonar including many of the floating docks.
Astern of the bow and vessel, Local History Mapping data comprised of the previously recorded and averaged seafloor depths is show in both a 2D top down representation on a nautical chart in the Chart View, and in a 3D perspective view in the 3D Omni View.
