United Way’s Child Development Associate (CDA) program helps early childhood educators gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Through classes at Reading Area Community College - and with United Way's support - participants prepare for the CDA exam, earning a credential that guarantees a pay increase and elevates the quality of education in their classrooms.
For many of the program participants, this is their first step into higher education. Araika is one of those success stories. She never imagined college could be part of her journey. With United Way’s help and encouragement, she earned her CDA and discovered the confidence to keep going. Her achievement is opening doors for her future and creating brighter opportunities for the children she teaches.
