I Found 8 Inch Drives!

Описание: In this video, I’m excited to share the latest addition to my vintage tech collection: two massive 8-inch floppy drives! 📦 These rare drives were carefully packed (thankfully) and sourced from the same seller as my Victor 9000. Join me as I unbox them and dive into their condition, including one with a loose belt and another with minor damage that I overlooked during the purchase.

I’ll show you how the drives look, share my thoughts on their potential, and even test one with a disk! 🖴 These 8-inch drives are completely new to me—it's wild to be talking about "new" tech from the 1980s in 2024! 😄 My main goal with these beauties is to see if they can help me archive my precious P5000 disks and others in my collection.

There’s plenty of work ahead, from cleaning off rust to finding the right connectors and determining compatibility with my disks. I’ll also dive deeper into the models and hopefully merge the two into one fully functional drive.
