Functional training Involves any movement that trains multiple muscles to work in coordination that helps you perform daily activities. Most of us have been doing functional exercises long before this became a formalised routine. Think about the movements you perform throughout your day such as bending, lifting, walking, climbing stairs, and pushing and pulling objects . Not to mention activities that combine all of those movements in unique ways. Functional training, can help you develop the balance, muscular strength and flexibility you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What makes functional training unique is that in functional workouts the use of compound exercises brings multiple muscle groups to work in coordination to perform one single movement. In this video, coach Mustafa Jariwala covers what functional training is, the benefits of functional exercises, and a few examples of functional training workout you can incorporate in your routine.
