Stephen Hague was co-writer and producer (alongside Bud Beatty). Hague wasn’t part of the grassroots hip-hop movement. He brought a more European pop production aesthetic — synths, drum machines, hooks — and helped turn a crew of breakdancers into a pop act for a moment.
