A dog lay motionless in the fast-moving traffic, and we all thought she was already dead. When we rushed to her side, we miraculously discovered her eyes were still moving! We immediately took her to the hospital, where examination revealed she had injured her spine and couldn't move, and her stomach contained nothing but chili pepper seeds—to survive, she could only force herself to eat food she shouldn't have eaten. After a week of treatment, we brought her home and named her Fubao. However, Fubao remained unhappy and would often howl at the gate. We took her back to the place where we first met her to seek answers, and eventually discovered she was a free-ranging mother dog who had been constantly thinking about her children. Seeing the smile return to Fubao's face when she reunited with her pups, we also believed that she was happy here.
