Catching up on learning the final tunes to complete #OAIM50!
I created this video for the Online Academy of Irish Music (OAIM) "50 Irish Session Tunes Challenge 2020-21". I was not yet a member when the group was assigned this tune, but learned it later so I could ultimately complete the full 50-tune challenge! So, you won't find me in it, but here the other students' submissions resulted in this compilation:
• The Ten Penny Bit [Irish Music Play Along]...
For this challenge, OAIM provided a new tune to learn every week or two, with the assignment to record the tune at 75% of full tempo. I added my own requirement of memorization, not allowing myself to glimpse the notation while recording it. The performance is a waypoint on my Irish music learning journey, with plenty of room for improvement!
