Thrand competes with Joerg Sprave's Time traveling Viking shield made of polycarbonate using Specs from Viking shield finds and Viking materials and techniques. Thrand creates an extremely strong Viking round shield based on the Trelleborg shield and the Gokstad shields and test it fully with Viking age weapons Bow, Spear, axe, Dane axe and Sword. Thrand also makes a reply to Rolf Warming about his conclusion Viking shields are too weak to be used in a shield wall based on wood and board thickness. Thrand tries to figure out if he needs to make the shield sent to Joerg even tougher to complete or will this war shield work against Joerg's modern monstrosity? How strong is the Viking shield lets find out!

Sorry about comment in video about Rolf Warming. I have spoken with Rolf Warming he is a good man and sound researcher and was misquoted by Thor's news. He does not believe in the conventional shield wall concept as portrayed by many early historians. He believes the concept of shields walls with Viking shield styles is flawed based on research and early documentation. It was not based on weakness of shields but the idea of static walls in general use during the Viking era.
