The DMMCheck Plus is a battery powered device that checks seven important functions on a DMM: AC and DC Voltage, AC and DC current, Resistance, Frequency, and Duty Cycle. It you have a DVM or DMM that has questionable accuracy, the DMMCheck Plus can give you the confidence you need before relying on your test equipment.

Provided on the small (2.5"W x 2.2"L) circuit board are the following circuits:
Resistance : Four 0.1%, 10ppm precision resistors are included: 100Ω, 1.00KΩ, 10.00KΩ, and 100.0KΩ
DC voltage : 5V, ± 0.01% voltage reference
DC current : 1mA, ±0.1% current source
AC voltage : 5V RMS, bipolar (+5V, -5V) square wave, ±0.1% voltage source
AC current : 1mA RMS, ±0.2% current source
Frequency : 100Hz, ±0.02% signal source
Duty Cycle : 100Hz, 5V RMS, signal source has 50% ± 0.05% duty cycle

An external power supply is not needed; The included 9V battery makes the unit self-contained and easily transported. An on-board on/off switch allows you to maximize battery life when not in use. Reverse polarity protection is included, so even if the battery is placed in the holder backwards no damage will result. When the AC/DC slide switch is in the AC position, AC voltage and AC current reference signals are present at the "V" and "I" terminals. When in the DC position, DC voltage and DC current reference signals are produced. A high brightness, low current LED clearly indicates when the DMMCheck Plus is powered-up.

The PentaRef provides 5 different DC reference voltages and is an excellent tool for checking the accuracy of your DVM or DMM. At the time of ordering you specify any 5 voltages (to the nearest 500uV) between 0.10V and 10.0V that suit your needs. The voltages are sequentially generated, and cycled through, by pressing and releasing the pushbutton adjacent to the LED's shown in the picture, above. The voltage appearing at the terminals in the lower left corner of the board is guaranteed, at the time of shipping, to be within 250uV of the user specified voltage. The actual voltage, to the nearest 100uV, will be indicated on the board.

To insure long term stability, before shipment each PentaRef is continuously powered-up for a minimum of 250 hours, and then adjusted using our calibrated, 8.5 digit, Agilent 3458A DMM. The calibration temperature is typically 70 degrees F.

The DMMCheck is a battery powered device that checks three important functions on a DMM - DC Volts, Resistance and DC current. It you have a DVM or DMM that is several years old, the DMMCheck can provide you with the confidence you need to know if you can trust your test equipment.

Provided on the small (2.1" x 1.6") circuit board are three separate circuits:
1. A 5VDC voltage reference that is accurate to within 0.01% (plus or minus 500uV) for a minimum of 6 months.
2. A 1.000mA DC current source that is accurate to within 0.1% (plus or minus 1uA)
3. Three 0.1%, 25ppm resistors - 1K, 10K, and 100K
