The ancient yew tree in the churchyard of All Saints’ Church, Didcot, is estimated to be between 1,000 and 1,200 years old.

Age Estimates: While most local sources and the church itself state it is over 1,000 years old, some estimates suggest it could be as old as 1,600 years.
Historical Significance: It is believed to have been planted near the spot where St Birinus, a 7th-century missionary, preached to the Saxons.
Condition: The tree is hollow and has survived both arson attacks and vandalism over the years. It is protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and is listed on the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Inventory.
