Spent a few slower days on the Lower Owens River, and this one was all about patience and persistence. The bite wasn’t wide open — I lost a few fish, landed a few solid ones, and had to really work for every hook-up.

That’s how the Lower can be sometimes — technical drifts, subtle takes, and quick head shakes that test your knots and focus. But even on the grind days, there’s nothing better than being out on the water in the Eastern Sierra.

As always, I was running nymphs from Sierra Trout Magnet in Bishop, CA — they consistently put me in the game, even when conditions weren’t ideal.

Sometimes fishing isn’t about numbers — it’s about adjusting, learning, and sticking with it until you find your rhythm.
