Shohei Ohtani’s 11 Gold Logoman Card Sells for Record $3 Million

A slew of recent releases in basketball and baseball are driving record sales, supercharging breaks on Live platforms like eBay and Fanatics, and no doubt a big part of what’s under the tree this Christmas. And as we covered in our previous story on the most valuable Shohei Ohtani cards, there is no hotter player in the hobby than the back to back to back MVP award winner.
Now we have news that the 2025 Topps Chrome MVP Award Gold MLB Logoman Shohei Ohtani Patch Auto 1/1 has sold for $3 million (including fees), making it the highest-priced Ohtani card ever on record.
The Gold Logoman Patch Explained
Every player’s uniform has the MLB logo stitched to the back of their jersey just under the neck. What makes the version on this card so special is the gold Logoman patch. It is only given to the winners of the previous season’s major awards, MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year in each league, as a way to honor their accomplishments. It’s a brand-new program launched in 2025 by MLB, Topps, Fanatics, and Nike.
These six players wear a shiny gold patch on their jerseys all season long instead of the usual one. After the season ends, MLB authenticates some game-worn jerseys, takes off the patches, and gives them to Topps to put into very rare trading cards, like the 1/1 signed ones in 2025 Topps Chrome. Ohtani earned it by winning the 2024 NL MVP.
